This is the combined index page for Stop Saying and Don’t Ruin. It lists all current linkable pages.
This pair of websites was created in response to the deterioration of interesting words and catchphrases. They are not intended to solve a problem, but to participate in the natural development of the English language. We intend for you to link them in AIM conversations, IRC channels, message boards, Twitter, and any another forms of textual communication, whenever someone abuses a word.
Of course, there’s no way we will fully succeed. People will chant lolcat phrases and pervert 4chan memes for a long, long time. But those who resist change and those who urge moderation are as much part of the natural process of the evolution of language as the idiots who create new words and change meanings to begin with. This site strives to fulfill that (admittedly conservative) role online. Hopefully, if we have any impact, the world will be slightly more hesitant to destroy words like lulz, babby and internets. Time will tell.
